Evaluation of Post -Traumatic Mental Disorders from Medicolegal Perspective

We presented five cases who were sent referred to our department for a judicial report. We discussed the effect of post-traumatic psychiatric diseases on the results of the report and we aimed to emphasize the importance of psychiatric examination in the forensic-medical evaluation. Traumatic lesions resolved basic medical intervations such as ecchymosis and laceration had been described in the medical documents of the three assault injury cases and two traffic accident cases. All cases referred to our department for preparation of a judicial report. The results of the psychiatric consultation, four cases diagnosed with “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” and one case diagnosed with “Acute Stress Disorder”. We think that along with the evaluation of physical findings of cases, to have a psychical evaluation and if necessary to take the opinions from psychiatry clinics are important for a complete exhibition of posttraumatic pathologies of the individual.

Travma Sonrası Gelişen Ruhsal Bozuklukların Adli-Tıbbi Açıdan Değerlendirilmesi

Adli rapor düzenlenmesi amacıyla anabilim dalımıza gönderilen beş olgu sunularak, travma sonrası gelişen psikiyatrik tablonun basit tıbbi müdahale açısından rapor sonucuna etkisi tartışılmış ve adli tıbbi değerlendirmede psikiyatrik muayenenin önemine dikkat çekilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Anabilim dalımıza gönderilen üçü etkili eylem, ikisi araç içi trafik kazası sonucu yaralanan olguların incelenen tıbbi belgelerinde, ekimoz ve laserasyon gibi basit tıbbi müdahale ile giderilebilecek travmatik lezyonlar tarif edilmiştir. Yapılan psikiyatri konsültasyonu sonucu dört olguda “Travma Sonrası Stres Bozukluğu”, bir olguda “Akut Stres Bozukluğu” saptanmıştır. Travma olgularının fiziksel bulgularını değerlendirmenin yanı sıra ruhsal değerlendirmelerinin de yapılmasının, gerekli görüldüğünde psikiyatri kliniklerinden görüş alınmasının, travma sonrası kişide meydana gelen patolojinin tam olarak ortaya konulmasında önemli olduğunu düşünüyoruz.
