Pregnancy-related osteoporosis presenting with vertebral compression fracture: A case report

Osteoporosis (OP), which is more common in women, is a clinical condition characterized by the deterioration of bone mass and microstructural structure of bone. Pregnancy-related osteoporosis (PRO) is a rare type of osteoporosis that occurs during the third trimester and lactation period of pregnancy. PRO is rarely seen with vertebral compression fractures and other bone fractures. In this article, a 22-year-old woman who developed GIO in her first pregnancy is presented by reviewing the current literature.

Vertebral kompresyon fraktürü ile prezente olan gebelikle ilişkili osteoporoz: olgu sunumu

Kadınlarda daha sık görülen osteoporoz (OP), kemik kütlesi ve kemiğin mikro mimari yapısında bozulma ile karakterize klinik bir durumdur. Gebelikle ilişkili osteoporoz (GİO) ise gebeliğin üçüncü trimesteri ve laktasyon döneminde ortaya çıkan nadir bir osteoporoz tipidir. GİO vertebral kompresyon fraktürü ve diğer kemik kırıkları ile nadiren görülebilmektedir. Bu makalede, ilk gebeliğinde GİO gelişen 22 yaşında bir kadın olgu güncel literatür eşliğinde sunulmaktadır.
